De Dion Bouton
1899 De Dion Bouton (right).
The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries
believes that the first `commercially viable shipment
of cars' into Australia arrived in May 1901,
being made up of 3.5 horsepower De Dion Boutons.
2001 and Industry Minister Senator Nick Minchin (left) and
FCAI President Peter Hanenberger (right) are grinning
like big kids aboard an 1899 De Dion Boutn similar
to one in the first shipment. [Thanks to FCAI.]
