2001: Citroen will launch the C5 station wagon in Australia at the Sydney International Motor Show in spring 2001. The C5 wagon's world launch was at the February 2001 Geneva International Motor Show. Citroen has alays been a marque to go its own way in styling, producing cars that are unconventional but look good decades later.

Citroen's Hydractive 3 suspension system allows the load sill height to drop by up to 16cm (6") to aid loading.

"Citroen Australia is examining the possibility of ultimately offering a choice of three engines. The range will open with the new 2.0 litre 16 valve engine with 100. As production expands, Citroen Australia hopes to top the range with the new 152 3.0 litre V6 engine." Importing a 2.2 litre turbo charged diesel (98 317) version is also a possibility.
