The all new Citroen C5 is a medium to luxury sedan. The company is making a point of the C5's height (1480mm) which is said to contribute greatly to good interior room. The car uses a "third generation Hydractive suspension" which has two settings - comfort and dynamic. The suspension automatically varies the vehicle ride height with speed, also raising it on rough road surfaces.

The C5 also has ABS, brake assist, traction control and no less than six airbags should the former prove insufficient. The show car has a 152 3.0 V6 with either a manual gearbox or a sequential automatic gearbox. A 2-litre engine will be an option in 2001.
