Chrysler Le Mans

2001 June 17: The Team Oreca Chrysler LMP of Olivier Beretta, Karl Wendlinger, Pedro Lamy finished fourth in the 2001 Le-Mans 24 hour race behind two Audi R8s and a Bentley Exp Speed 8.

2001 April right: The Chrysler Le Mans Prototype for the 2001 Le Mans 24-hour race, 16-17 June, has its first race at Donington Park, UK.

The Chrysler LMP is powered by a 6-litre V8 `Mopar' engine. Stephane Sarrazin (france), Franck Montagny (France) and Norman Simon (Germany) have joined Chrysler for 2001.

The height of the series is the Le Mans 24-hour race, won last year by Audi R8's which finished 1-2-3. This year Bentley returns, with what are in effect closed Audis.
