A review: This `Motorbooks' book was written in 1992 by David Wright and Clarence Jungwirth to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Oshkosh Truck Corporation, founded by W. R. Besserdich and B. A. Mosling in 1917. The company specialised in all wheel drive trucks then and it still does so today.
1 Four wheel drive pioneers 1915-1938,
from old Betsy to the J-series trucks pp,
2 The growth years 1939-1986,
from the W-series trucks to Defense contracts p19,
3 All Wheel Drive leaders 1968-1992,
trucks for all uses p29,
4 Photo album,
seventy five years of Oshkosh trucks p45,
Afterword p127, index p128.
The largest section of the book is the photo album, which is the way it should be with this truck maker which has made and makes the most surprising array of trucks and wheeled contraptions - aircraft loaders, aircraft tugs, bus chassis, concrete mixers, fire tenders, log trucks, mine trucks, oil rig supply trucks, refuse collectors, snow ploughs and blowers, tank tranporters, usually, but not always, with all wheel drive.
Keep looking through the shelves of bookshops - as Profpinz says, sometimes you just get lucky.
