2001 March
Melbourne Motor Show:
To be available in 2002,
the new (BMW) Mini Cooper will be priced under $35,000,
with the Mini Cooper S ~$40,000+/- ($au).
While the exterior is reasonably faithful
to the old Mini looks, the interior takes a few
styling cues, such as the centrally mounted dial,
but is otherwise more radical.
The original Mini handled well but was not
the best car to be in in a crash;
the new one has front and side airbags, and ABS brakes.
