2001 May, right:
The Honda i-series engine, 1.3 liter, 4-cylinder.
The "intensive combustion" engine features
"Dual and Sequential Ignition" (i-DSI).
That is to say each cylinder has twin spark plugs
fired at different times, and in a different order
according to load and speed.
(The main aim is to achieve a high compression raio without knocking.)
The engine is fitted with the Multimatic S
CVT
transmission and Honda claims
"fuel efficiency figures of 4.35 litres per 100km and
?year 2010? --> 2010 fuel efficiency standards."
