August 2001: Mitsubishi Motors will continue building the Magna in Adelaide "for a while", i.e. at least past a face-lift or two, or even until the election after the coming one! (Australian Prime Minister John Howard is in Japan.) To be honest, it doesn't make much economic sense (lots of other sense of course) to have GM, Ford, Toyota and Mitsubishi building cars in such a small market, and if the Australian dollar gets strong again it could be curtains for Mitsubishi in Adelaide.
