Adelaide Race of 1000 Years
2000 December 31:
An Audi R8, #77, won the `Race of 1000 Years' in Adelaide,
on the street circuit once used for the Australian F1 Grand-Prix.
The car painted in a spectacular "crocodile" scheme
was driven by Rinaldo Capello and Allan McNish.
A second Audi R8, #78,
driven by Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro finished 6th
after a crash 3 hours into the race required major repairs.
