of Rhino Buggies, Northam, Western Australia,
emails information on offroad buggies built by the firm:
The latest product, the Hummbug is Subaru powered,
enabling you to four wheel drive
about the bush in scaled-down immitation
of you know what.
The Predator and Commando
are based on the rear engined
Polish `Niki', essentially a Fiat 126.
Its 650cc air-cooled engine produces 24bhp,
not a huge output, but lively in a light weight body.
(People have been known to race the earlier Fiat 500
which gained cult status, and the related Puch 500
was rallied with some success!)
The Commando shown below was built for `Sydney Wonderland'
and delivered in December 1999 to be used in a stage show production.
Rhino Buggies sells complete built-up vehicles and
also sells plans for the general public to build their own.
