4x4 Off-Road Spring Trophy 2000
4x4 Off-Road Spring Trophy 2000 organized by Estonian Off-Road Club
will take place on May 5-7.
It is a complex contest of orienteering and
safari, embracing a large territory.
From geographic coordinates, the participants
must find check-points on the roads and photograph their vehicle
against the background of the check-point. The winner is the one who
finds all check-points in the shortest time without violating traffic rules.
The trial lasts for 24 hours.
As the roads in spring are often almost
impassable we recommend to have a winch (at least a hand-winch,
traction 1-ton) with you and maxicross (mud-terrain) type tyres. You
should be equipped with a tow-rope, a spade, a crowbar, a jack and
boards in case you become stuck. You should have food and drink for 24
hours. Your clothes and footwear must be suitable for splashing about in
the mud if necessary. But the main thing is your strong resistance. As the
contest is quite difficult you should be sure of your health condition. If
you have heard or participated in 4x4 Off-Road Autumn Trial 99, you
know the point (you can find comments on the
[www].)
The prizes are valuable. The Spring Trophy 2000 is one of the
4 Seasons Off-Road Trials organized by Estonian Off-Road Club. The
overall winner of these contests will be found out at the end of the year
and (s)he will get a special prize.
We expect competitors from abroad to take part in the contest. The Finns,
Russians and Latvians have already informed of their participation.
