Join us for a trip to the "Scandinavian Roof" and Russia in March 2000! The Polar Express Event is on! Have a look at our home [page].
If you read Land Rower Owner International May and June issue this year, you will have a hint about the trip. "To hell, and back" This year we do it in March to avoid the minus 40° period - that was a bit heavy for the cars... Normally the factory tests them down to minus twenty, and a lot happens below minus thirty...:-) This year we will have 4 - 5 brand new cars lent us by BMW/Rover Norway. These cars, we will pick up in Alta. Some 4 or 5 people from Sollihull will come over to test some special projects along the trip. Journalists are busy, and several will fly in to take part in some of the legs. In addition, a group of private cars will drive up and take part in some of the legs, or the whole trip:
The trip is no off-road adventure, we will follow normal roads all the way, except in Kautokeino where we will have our own Race-Track on a private lake. During all legs we will have a complete program of activities every day. Apart from photographic stops for journalists, we will visit local cultural places, take part in cultural activities etc. The details of the program is not finalized yet.
You are welcome to join our full-time program, either in your own car or as a passenger, flying in and out of some airports. Prices are not finalized yet, (depending on sponsors etc.) For budget reasons, we say count on somewhere around NOK 1000,- a day, covering hotel, meals and activities. On top of this comes the entry fee covering visas, administrative work etc. It will be around NOK 1000,- for the whole trip. You can choose to stay at our hotels, in your car or at other places. Up to you. In case you sleep in your car and bring your own food, but take part in the convoy and activities, the price pr. day will be about the half. Private sponsors and logos on cars is OK!
This is the chance of your life to have a memorable winter-trip up on The
European Roof together with a funny, wild bunch of friendly people:
